British pianist Maria Marchant has performed at numerous leading venues around the UK and abroad including Cadogan Hall, Champs Hill, Konzerthaus (Berlin), Southbank Centre, St David’s Hall (Cardiff), St John’s Smith Square, Steinway Hall, St Martin-in-the-Fields and Wigmore Hall. Active as recitalist, concerto soloist and chamber musician, 2016 engagements include a world premiere of ‘Goodwood Variations’ – a new work composed by Roderick Williams and commissioned by the Shipley Arts Festival in addition to recitals for the Cheltenham Music Festival Plus, Clitheroe Concerts Society, King’s Lynn Festival, Steyning Festival and Worcester Concert Club.

News from the Shipley Arts Festival 2016 launch: Maria will be performing on 10th April at the iconic Goodwood Ballroom in aid of the Friends of Sussex Hospices. The Bernardi Chamber Ensemble and Maria will be giving the world premiere of ‘Goodwood Variations’, a new work by Roderick Williams commissioned by the Shipley Arts Festival and Maria will also be premiering Roderick’s ‘Goodwood by the Sea’ for solo piano in addition to performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto K414 No. 12.
