British pianist and BBC Music Magazine Rising Star Maria Marchant has performed at numerous leading venues around the UK and abroad including Cadogan Hall, Champs Hill, Konzerthaus (Berlin), Southbank Centre, St David’s Hall (Cardiff), St John’s Smith Square, Steinway Hall, St Martin-in-the-Fields and Wigmore Hall. Active as recitalist, concerto soloist and chamber musician, recent appearances include the Burford, Edinburgh Fringe and King’s Lynn Festivals in addition to BBC Radio 3 In Tune. Maria is pianist-in-residence at the Shipley Arts Festival and an ambassador for the Concordia Foundation. Maria’s debut SOMM CD ‘Echoes of Land & Sea’ was released in September 2017 to critical acclaim, featuring two new solo piano works composed by Roderick Williams OBE. Her second CD for SOMM Recordings, ‘Bantock Rediscovered’, was released in June 2018 featuring first recordings of Granville Bantock’s piano music, never before heard on disc. Upcoming concerts include performances of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No 12 K414 in A major and a Stradivarius Piano Trio tour of Hong Kong.
